The Challenge
The South Australian Housing Authority and the City of Unley with the endorsement of the Australian Institute of Architects held this design competition for a ‘Residential Living Village’. The Competition asked entrants to design a mixed residential housing village that encapsulates innovative design for residential living. The emphasis was on a scheme that incorporated ‘affordable, social and market priced housing’ developed upon the principles of energy efficiency, environmental, community and cultural sustainability.
The Solution
Our competition entry was awarded third place. The Jury “commends the Entrant for displaying diligent architectural work, which has attempted to understand every aspect of the Brief and the existing site conditions as the basis for their design proposal.“
